Well by the late 80s/early 90s (when I was in high school), it was trashy. So it certainly had already gone downhill waaay before "Jersey Shore" came along.

i have been in the bars of bay ridge longer then i woud say well all of you
and in the years in them( since i was 15-16)
i have seen maybe 20 fights,
funny thing only 4 of them were with italian people
