[ dons Ranty McRantRant hat ]

I hate that my managers don't have enough sense to schedule people for busy hours but expect me to work a 10 hour shift without fuss (or break). It really irritates me when they pull the same routine every week - about 20 minutes before the end of my shift: "Hey Nicole, mind staying til close?" and every week the same reply: "See ya". They knew they would need me to work until close back when they did the schedule, why ask at the last minute and seem surprised when I say no? Why not just fucking SCHEDULE me until close?

It seems like they are desperately trying to save cash by having as few people in as possible, but our work suffers because of it. I am the only person who cleaned ANYTHING today , and doing 8 large theaters + 2 lobbies + 2 bathrooms is pretty damn hard on a good 3-person usher team. Since I usually had about 30 minutes between theater cleanings, so I tried to help the lone concessionist as best as I could (those girls/guys have it very hard when they are flying solo). I have no sympathy for the management team but I truly do feel bad for leaving my crew short-staffed...but the smell of "butter-flavored" topping was driving me fucking insane.

I'm sorry I will take care of that immediately. Of course guessing what color you would like and being wrong no matter what. But is it soapy enough? I'm not sure how one makes soap, soapier.

Homer Simpson - Dead
August 1, 2001

®We're going to Moe's. If we're not back, avenge our deaths.®

Homer J. Simpson, inventor, IRS spy, newspaper columnist and nuclear safety technician for the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant has died. He was 36.

Mr Simpson died at Springfield Memorial after brief complications, Saturday morning at five a.m. . He was surrounded by his wife and three young children. Simpson was admitted to the emergency unit of the hospital yesterday afternoon. He had accidentally swallowed a rat poisoned donut used for pest control at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant, where he worked.

Mr Simpson had no particular goals in life. He once said ®the three sentences that will get you through life. Number one, 'cover for me.' Number two, 'oh, good idea, boss.' Number three, 'it was like that when I got here." This incredible devotion to sloth even allowed him to become the first civilian to go into space and come back alive.

®What Kind Of Catchphrase is That?®

Few words convey Mr Simpson®s life like ®d®oh.®Mr Simpson®s favourite catchphrase was adopted earlier by the Oxford English Dictionary. In the Oxford English Dictionary, ®d®oh® means ®expressing frustration at the realization that things have turned out badly or not as planned, or that one has just said or done something foolish.®

®Weaselling out of things is important to learn®

For most of his adult life, Mr Simpson worked at the local Springfield nuclear power plant as a safety technician. His outlook on work was simple, ®if you don't like your job you don't strike. You just go in every day and do it really half-assed. That's the American way."

Though he believed that he ®didn®t have the discipline to be a hippie," Mr Simpson had a prolific public career. He was the member of a barber shop quartet during the 80's. There, he earned a Grammy award. He also won a Pulitzer Prize for a series of investigative journalism features.

®Did you know they have the Internet for computers now?®

Mr Simpson never shied away from a good business venture. One ofhis later companies, Internet venture CompuGlobalHyperMegaNet was bought by competition fearing, software magnate, Bill Gates.

Mr Simpson, often unappreciated for his near genius simple observations was a five-foot seven overweight bald man who never hid his lust for pleasure. He was often found at Moe®s, a local bar in Springfield toasting "To alcohol! The cause of - and solution to - all of life's problems!"

Mr Simpson was an avid television enthusiast. He called it ®teacher, mother,[ and] secret lover!" Some of his favourite television shows were Ron Howard®s Springfield Life, Spanish Bumblebee and football.

Mr Simpson also participated in sporting events. He enjoyed bowling even when he lost. He once told his son Bart, "Son, when you participate in sporting events, it's not whether you win or lose: it's how drunk you get."

®Space Aliens! I have a wife and kids! Eat them!®

Mr Simpson®s private life was as varied and spectacular as his public one. He was an avid Christian who often shared his interpretation of the Scriptures with his children. ®Lisa, if the Bible has taught us nothing else - and it hasn't - it's that girls should stick to girls sports, such as hot oil wrestling and foxy boxing and such and such."

As a husband, Mr Simpson dealt with marital problems directly. "Marge, it takes two to lie. One to lie and one to listen."

Mr Simpson was equally sagacious when counselling his three children. ®Kids, you tried your best, and failed miserably . . . The lesson is, NEVER TRY.®

®I can be a jerk and no one can stop me!®

Mr Simpson was as lucid with himself. He knew exactly his limitations and approached them reasonably. ®All right brain, you don't like me and I don't like you, so let's just do this thing and I'll go back to killing you with beer.®

Mr Simpson is survived by his wife Marge Bouvier Simpson, 34, his son Bartholomew (Bart) J. Simpson, 10 and his two daughters, Lisa Marie Simpson, 8 and Margaret (Maggie) Simpson, 1.

Though his wife, once told him "One person CAN change the world, but most of the time, you probably shouldn't." Mr Simpson has changed our lives forever.

well I think to pay for the deficit, they should garnish profits Bush made from the war, remember he comes from Texas oil and it was up around $100 a barrel during the war he started. I think it is disgusting he and his family have profited from it.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaJump to:navigation, search

An idiot, dolt, or dullard is a mentally deficient person, or someone who acts in a self-defeating or significantly counterproductive way. More humorous synonyms of the term include addlehead, blockhead, bonehead, deadhead, dimwit, dodo, dope, dummy, dunderhead, nincompoop, ninny, nitwit, numbskull, stupidhead, thickhead, and twit, among many others. Archaically the word mome has also been used. The synonymous terms moron, imbecile, and cretin have all gained specialized meanings in modern times. An idiot is said to be idiotic, and to suffer from idiocy. A dunce is an idiot who is specifically incapable of learning. An idiot differs from a fool (who is unwise) and an ignoramus (who is uneducated), neither of which refer to someone with low intelligence.

My 17 year old niece just "liked" this on facebook: "Shut Up. I Wear Heels Bigger Than Your Dick."
Why does she even know what a dick is?! I've failed miserably at trying to keep her in her little bubble.

I know... I just don't want to face the harsh reality. She's going to college in September, so I guess I may as well get used to her being grown. I was just hoping that since she's going to a fashion/design oriented college, she'd hang out with boys that don't like girls and I could keep her my little one forever. Not so much, it seems.

Just as long as she's not interested in the girls. I'm happy with the "no sex til you're 30, married or not" rule.

Hush. She's going for business management in fashion and design, it's not totally worthless. Besides, she's adorable so I don't blame her parents for paying $$$$$$$$$ so she can go play with cute clothes.

Great. I have to go kill myself now. I didn't even think of her doing drugs. She told me she doesn't like the taste of beer, and that the beer in the pictures all over her facebook pics are her friends. You don't think...

Yeah, I didn't mean me... my sisters were good though. My mom had rules for the older 2, the 3rd one was really bad no matter what, the 4th one flew under the radar and by the time she got to me she was just too burnt out to try to force the rules/Catholic guilt. As long as I was never as bad as #3, I was left alone. For the most part, I did ok if you ignore years 19-23 and 29.

Great. I have to go kill myself now. I didn't even think of her doing drugs. She told me she doesn't like the taste of beer, and that the beer in the pictures all over her facebook pics are her friends. You don't think...

Why can't they all be good Catholic girls like their aunt was?!?

I'm not really a fan of beer. But the drugs are fun :)

Still, anyone that is "well adjusted" should be able to have sex and drugs recreationally.

My favorite thing is when perfectly fine, contributing members of society worry about their kids doing the same exact things they did growing up.

Okay so we arrange a meeting with the office manager (me) the CFO (crazy OCD lady) and HR to try to resolve some pressing issues, my concerns invoices not being paid ON TIME due to the fact CFO has crazy proceedure for signing off, can take weeks. interns and office staff being hired without my knowledge (since I do paperword and set up office space kinda important I be involved) etc. CFO's main concern sometimes the spoon holder in the kitchen doesn't have enough spoons and *gasp* sometimes none in the mornings. There of course over 1,000 spoons in a box on the shelf 2 feet away. But thank goodness the soap situation seem to be under control.

Maybe it's me?

thing I hate: my daughter's rec softball coach decides to quit the team, with 3 games left in season because she feels some of the teens (mostly her own spoiled rotten daughter) aren't there to play the game. So good example to set for the other teenagers that actually want to play: if you lose too many games, take a tantrum, call the girls "embarrassing losers," and leave the team without a coach. So, in steps my other half to help the girls finish their season, even with coaching the boys' little league, working alot of overtime, and not particularly excited about coaching teenage girls' softball. (with alittle prodding from me, since I know nada about the sport.)
I am what I am!!!

You have my deepest sympathy.
I've been trying to firm up a preliminary corp. budget with some folks who view therapy issues as planning tools. One guy imploded b/c we made a minor change in that on-schedule but in-process/preliminary budget.
The change didn't affect numbers, but he wasn't vexed re: numbers, or even re: decisionmaking, anyway: Rather, he was upset by any change per se -- though the thing is still a work in progress and our objective is to make changes. He reacted as if we violated all of his OCD taboos in one fell swoop.

Girls with facial hair....

On the train coming home from work today. Saw this girl that I had seen the other day going in.
Almost perfect for me. Cute face, long red hair, glasses, huge boobs, big butt. Awesome.
I was going to make the approach but couldn't find the right opportunity because it was rush hour, so I let it go.

Then, going home, much easier. I felt she was feeling me too because she saw me look and then looked away and smiled. I knew she'd transfer with me cause she caught the 36th D train last time. Still didn't get a chance to approach because the R train came right away. Still didn't want to bother in a crowded train so I figure, if she gets off the same stop, that's the time. So we transfer, I get myself psyched up to go through with it and we're standing there as the train makes its stops and thats when I noticed it. Now, I could let light, whispy hairs go, but the girl had dark noticeable from close, almost sideburn like hairs. So disappointed :(
